Welcome to the Pictures Page!!!
Don't worry, nothing here is "inappropriate."
These are two Takahes preening each other. They live in New Zealand and there are only about 300 of them in the wild. |
This is a creepy endangered animal that has a long bony snout. It is called a solenodon. |
These cute/ugly things are called Bilbies. Notice the large ears. |
This is an okapi. It is a horse like animal that looks really cool. I'm pretty sure but not sure that it lives in South America. |
This huge bird is called a giant moa. It is most likely the largest bird to ever live, but it is now extinct. It was either 7 or 9 feet tall, and lived in Australia. |
This is called a liger. A liger is a hybrid between a lion and a tiger. They are the largest cats in the world. |
This is a kakapo. It is the largest parrot, weighing two pounds. It is flightless and lives in New Zealand. Unfornately, it is nearly extinct, but it is making a comeback. |
Three ultra cute baby kakapo, ready to go to an island sanctuary. They are being moved to an island because predatores like cats and weasels are killing them off on the mainland. |
This here's a King Vulture. I don't know anything about it, though. Interesting Fact: American vultures are related to storks, and Old World vultures aren't! |
This is a tapir. It is quite weird looking, don't you agree? |
This is a cute little baby tapir! Boy, do their colors change as they grow up... |
This is an Asian, Indian, or Javan rhinoceros. Javan rhinos are the most endangered mammals on the planet. |
This is a Tasmanian Tiger. It is actually a marsupial, not a regular mammal. It was hunted to extinction, unfortunately, though some people have said they have seen it. |
This is a proboscis monkey. Otherwise known as a big fat monkey with a huge honker. Only the males have a big nose, though. |
Sorry this picture is so small. It was the best one I could find. This is a Japanese Giant Salamander. The largest one is fifty (!) years old, fifty pounds, and five feet long (strange coincidence?). |
This is a jacana. It has huge feet because it lives in a place in South America where there are huge lily pads. It treads lightly over them, using its feet for balance. |
This is a cassowary. It is an Australian bird with a vicious kick. It looks like a turkey, though. |
This is a picture of two Nanday conures preening each other. Nandays come from South America, but these two live in a flock in Florida. |
These are two other Nandays from the same flock. |
Sources: Eeehhh... I have foolishly just put all these pictures onto this site without citing them, but at least i'm not using the picture for monetary purposes, or I might be breaking the law. Anyways, you can find almost all these images at images.google.com, if you're curious.
